Chiller Original Movie Commences Production

August 14, 2012 by Brandon Gentry No Comments

Killer cable channel Chiller (heh) moves into production on their original fright flick Beneath today — a Spring 2013 premiere is expected.

The movie is set to star Danny Zovatto (Innocence), Bonnie Dennison (Stake Land, Third Watch), Chris Conroy (Sorority Row), Jonny Orsini (Imogene), Griffin Newman (Political Animals) and Mackenzie Rosman (7th Heaven).

from Chiller

When a group of young friends commemorating their high school graduation take a trip to the remote Black Lake, their celebration turns into a nightmare with the sudden appearance of a bloodthirsty, underwater predator. Stuck in a leaking boat with no oars, the teens face the ultimate tests of friendship and sacrifice during a terror-stricken fight for survival.

Beneath is written by Tony Daniel and Brian D. Smith, and directed by horror icon Larry Fessenden (The Last Winter, Habit). Produced by Fessenden and Peter Phok for Glass Eye Pix (Stake Land, The Innkeepers, I Sell The Dead).

High school kids, post graduation trip, a lake, a lake monster… sounds totally freaking original.

What do you think of Chiller?

AMC’s The Walking Dead Blog – Q&A with Greg Nicotero

July 31, 2012 by Brandon Gentry No Comments

AMC posted a really cool Q&A with the man himself, Greg Nicotero, over on their blog. Nicotero sheds some light on the prison, zombie decomposition, and Michonne’s pets.

If you’re a fan of The Walking Dead, then check out this article as well as everything else that the best network on cable has to offer.

From AMC

The Walking Dead‘s makeup master Greg Nicotero describes zombie torso decomposition, his own plans to play an undead terror this year and what Season 3 has in common with Jaws.

New Walking Dead Season 2 Poster Revealed

September 13, 2011 by Brandon Gentry No Comments
The Walking Dead Season 2
The Walking Dead Season 2

Run, Rick, run!

Unless you’ve been too drunk to notice, 40 oz. Of Horror LOVES the Walking Dead

The much anticipated season 2 of the Walking Dead is upon us, and today we got a glimpse of Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) running towards the Greene Farm. The season 2 poster is another grim reminder of horror our hero is going to face again this season.

Walking Dead Season 2 faced with real life zombies?

Given the shakeup during the off season over at AMC, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little concerned about this season. If network suits run this show into the ground, we might as well hope for the real zombie apocalypse. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, just ask co-host of the 40 oz. Of Horror! Podcast James Dunn @JamesDunn81 or listen to every episode of the podcast. He is very passionate about it.

Is Mad Men ruining television?

August 22, 2011 by Chad Butrum 2 Comments

I stumbled across an interesting article from a Toronto newspaper (TheStar.com.)  It references a bit of the AMC, Mad Men, Walking Dead controversy, which harkins back to a discussion we had in Episode #7 of the podcast.

…But the cutbacks have had a far more devastating effect on the Walking Dead production team. Everyone, that is, but their much-admired showrunner, Frank Darabont, who was unceremoniously yanked by the network — apparently right out of an editing suite — without warning or explanation.
